Im Zeichen der Mutter: Raphael-Novalis

Liebe Freunde,

Here is the author-edited video of the Zoom lecture that I delivered to the American Anthroposophical Society on January 5, 2026 as a Section contribution to the Society’s Solstice and Holy Nights observances and celebration. This video is also the promised completion of the five-part video-lecture series begun in 2022 with the title “Novalis, Magical Idealism, & Rudolf Steiner’s Last Address.” The video incorporates material from the two lectures that I delivered in Dornach at the Rudolf Steiner Halde in October/November 2024, which were presented in German at that time to an audience of members of the Section for the Beautiful Sciences, as our Section is called in German.

This video is also another step toward the 2026 Novalis Conference that will occur at Pentecost May 22-25, 2026 at the Goetheanum.

A PDF of the Conference program is attached to this post. I will lecture on “Novalis als Trickster,” and virtuoso violinist Emmanuel Vukovich and I will  collaboratively present Hymnen an die Nacht by Novalis in my fresh English translation. This is a work that Emmanuel and I premiered at the May 2025 North American Section Conference in San Francisco at the Swedenborgian Church, a National Historic Monument.
