“Dance of the Spirits” by Marion Donehower (Visual Arts Section)
Dear Friends,
Once again . . . Welcome! . . . as we progress into the second quarter of our 21st century, more than 100 years after the death of Rudolf Steiner in March, 1925.
Here is a “work in progress” schedule of the currently known events and meetings of the North American Section for the Literary Arts & Humanities of the School for Spiritual Science.
It’s been a busy time! Our Section is just coming off two very successful back-to-back North American Section Conferences in 2024 and 2025 in San Francisco and Toronto . . . and you might rightly conclude: “Jeesh, take a break!” But the spirit of time keeps clipping along apace . . .
A Sign of Times, by the way, is this event at Harvard coming up at the end of the year. Our Section will be well represented! In addition to myself, poet and scholar and Section member Daniel Polikoff will give a presentation, scholar and Section member Jeff Hipolito will present, and our former Section leader in Dornach, Martina Maria Sam, will give the conference keynote lecture.

Autumn Schedule through early Winter
(Subject to change; watch this space!)
This “semester” things are organized a bit differently. Some events are on the calendar; some events will pop up more spontaneously. It depends on the spirit of the time and whether conditions and causes are favorable. I’ll do my best to keep things current here; so, keep an eye on this page and watch for my regular Section emails. Also, keep an eye on the Section YouTube Channel, where I post lecture videos from our meetings, conferences, and events.
August
August 16: Spontaneous and very quickly announced “pop up” meeting on Zoom for friends and members of the Section. 7-8 pm Pacific. A well attended conversation evening with poetry, as it turned out.
August 24: New Moon Salon (by popular demand). I was going to cancel this, but so many people asked to see the movie Faust that I made in 2016 that I popped a New Moon Salon on the calendar. Hybrid meeting: In person and by Zoom. 4:30-6:00 pm Pacific. This movie has not been posted, and it probably won’t be. But here is a link to an essay about Faust written at about the same time as the movie that Dale and I made at Michaelmas 2026.
